A Professional Career Built on Public Service

Commissioner Altman worked as a public-interest attorney for over 17 years, including serving as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia, a guardian ad litem for seniors in Mecklenburg County, and a staff attorney at Charlotte's Council for Children's Rights.

Her efforts have helped:
  • victims of discrimination in rental properties
  • homeowners who were price-gouged after a natural disaster
  • 18,000 victims of mail fraud, securing a $21 million judgment
  • at-risk children, seniors, and adults with disabilities
